2027
The Year of the Fire Goat
Unlike the chaotic and unpredictable social impulses of the 2026 Fire Horse, the Fire Goat shifts the focus away from superficial networking and toward a cozier, nurturing energy.
2027 is the year of relationship building, collaboration, art and creativity, and emotional healing.
Designed for Every Player
This year's card is especially designed to help you pivot and features a new section entirely dedicated to beginners, as well as a Wright Patterson section for more experienced players ready to test their skills.
What is Wright Patterson?
Wright Patterson Mahjong was first published in 1967 (the last year of the fire Goat!) by military wives who wanted to blend the rules of American and Chinese mahjong to help bring consistent play to wherever they were stationed.
This year's card pays homage to those women.
Breaking Down the 2027 Card
We make things that work better and last longer. Our products solve real problems with clean design and honest materials.
Lucky Sevens
Lucky sevens and royal purple take center stage this year, symbolizing wisdom, spiritual growth, and prosperity.
Easily Pivot
Complementary hands sit side by side and line up across each panel, guiding your eye to the next best hand.
Beginners Section
The reverse side is devoted entirely to learning, with 15 curated hands and guides to help with gameplay.
Colorblind Friendly
Relying on typography more than color, the IMC is thoughtfully designed so every player can see the card clearly.
Rules for Blanks
The IMC includes rules for Playing with Blanks so everyone at the table is on the same page when playing with these extra tiles.
Balanced Play
You can win many hands using jokers and others will be very hard unless you play with blanks so there is a challenge for everyone.
